Robert is a partner in two dairy farming businesses in North Cumbria. He is the third generation of Craig's managing the home business at Cairnhead Farm which currently covers 650 acres and carries milking 450 cows. Robert is also a partner in a joint venture Dolphenby Farming Partners near Penrith, covering 700 acres and milking 550 cows. Robert is also a Director of the dairy coop First Milk and a trustee of the RABDF. Since being awarded a Nuffield Farming Scholarship in 2012 Robert has maintained an interest in food chain sustainability and today is spending an increasing amount of time working on policy work with The Sustainable Food Trust based in Bristol.
